About Strand Equestrian

Good riding helps the horse live a better life. Our clothes are made for riders who think that way.

Three thoughts behind everything we make

Good riding is good horse welfare.
Riding clothes should fit riders in the real world, not just on Instagram.
The clothes shouldn't just look good. They should be comfortable to wear over time.

The trousers that started it all

I had a pair of trousers that were both nice and very expensive, made with the best materials. Yet I couldn't bend my knees when I was going to get into the saddle. They were too tight around the knees.

That's how it is for many riders, especially adults who have a bit of body and a bit of muscle. Riding trousers are often made for the very thinnest, while the rest of us have to make do. I make trousers for adults. That's why we use an extra stretchy material that gives full mobility in all directions.

My trousers adapt to your body. If you fit a L today, it will also fit if you gain or lose five kilos. You should feel good and be comfortable, regardless of your shape.

Rådar

Louise and Rådar at the show

My very first pair of trousers was made in memory of Rådar, my greatest love. The trousers are named after the horse. Rådar was one of the most used Fjord stallions in his time, and a horse that taught me a lot.

He showed me that a Fjord horse with good training can give a better riding feel than many so-called riding horses. He had a willingness to train that made almost anything possible. With him, I won everything I started in Norway. He was the horse that made me dare to bet on horses, travel to Germany, and get my education. And he made me believe more in myself.

Who is behind it

Louise Strand, founder of Strand EquestrianMy name is Louise Strand. I have ridden and taught for over 30 years. I am a trained riding instructor in Germany, and have further educated myself in classical dressage with Anja Beran and Thomas Ritter, among others.

I have also worked at Norsk Fjordhest Gård. There I got my burning interest in the Norwegian horse breeds.
